One week after his dream of being World Heavyweight Champion was cut short after Randy Orton defeated him for the gold just five nights after he won it at Extreme Rules, the former World Heavyweight Champion Christian would make an appearance on SmackDown to address the WWE fans regarding his loss of the gold! Sheamus & Mark Henry by Christian pinning Sheamus following the Killswitch. Detailed Results One week after having his dreams of being the World Heavyweight Champion brought to an abrupt halt by Randy Orton, who defeated him to win the World Heavyweight Title, the show kicks off with the former World Heavyweight Champion, Christian, who states that his “peeps” were “not happy” with the decision by General Manager Theodore Long to make him defend the World Heavyweight Title last week just five nights after his grueling Ladder Match! Christian continues that he “agrees” with Theodore Long’s decision last week because Long’s job is to put on a “fun, exciting, unpredictable show” for the fans and he is “cool with that”, because if Long is not doing that, then the GM is not doing his job! Christian would then congratulate the new World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, before stating that he looks forward to getting his rematch for the World Heavyweight Title in nine nights at Over The Limit because a “prepared” Christian can “beat” Randy Orton! Christian is then interrupted by the arrival of “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus, who states that he “enjoyed” seeing Christian’s seventeen-year dream come to an end last week before declaring that the WWE fans want to see a match between him and Christian “right now”! Before a decision can be made on the subject, “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry comes out and tells Sheamus to “pump your brakes” before saying that he too enjoyed seeing Christian’s dreams crushed! Henry then calls Sheamus a “red-headed stepchild with a funny accent” before claiming that the WWE fans came to see Mark Henry face Christian, but changes his mind and states that the fans want to see Mark Henry face Sheamus! Sheamus then offers up a different idea as Sheamus proposes that Sheamus & Mark Henry face Christian in a Handicap Match and, when Sheamus and Henry would close in on Christian, “Captain Charisma” would have no choice but to fight back, but the numbers game would catch up to Christian! Fortunately for “Captain Charisma”, the new World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, would come to the aid of his Over The Limit opponent as Christian and Orton would battle Sheamus and Mark Henry, sending the big men out of the ring! Backstage, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long is with new World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton and his Over The Limit opponent, Christian, as the GM informs the champion and challenger that they will actually team up in the main event as Randy Orton & Christian would face Sheamus & Mark Henry in tag team action! Following this announcement, Orton would reveal to Christian that he saved Christian and will team with Christian because he wants Christian “ready” for Over The Limit! Just nine nights before they square off for the World Heavyweight Title, can the new champion, Randy Orton, and the former champion, Christian, co-exist as a team? With Chavo Guerrero volunteering himself to do the introduction of Sin Cara before sitting down as a guest on commentary, the international sensation Sin Cara would go one-on-one with former United States Champion Daniel Bryan! With Chavo Guerrero on commentary claiming that he has been “mentoring” Sin Cara and that Cara is using his “moves”, Daniel Bryan would test Sin Cara in a way not yet seen since Cara’s debut, but during the match, without the knowledge of Sin Cara or the referee, Chavo would grab the leg of Daniel Bryan, which would allow Sin Cara to take advantage, hitting the Volar Asalto en route to picking up the win! After the match, Sin Cara saw the replay of Chavo Guerrero’s interference, which would spark an argument between Cara and Chavo as Chavo would put a finger on the chest of Cara and tell him that he “helped” Cara, but the proud Sin Cara would shove Chavo down, letting Guerrero know that he does not want or need Chavo’s help! After defeating her former best friend, Michelle McCool, at Extreme Rules in a Loser Leaves WWE Match, forcing McCool out of the WWE, Layla would appear on SmackDown to discuss the victory and McCool’s departure! Layla states that, during the match, she “hurt” her knee and, as “painful” as a knee injury is, it was “worth it” to get rid of that “poison”, Michelle McCool! Layla is then interrupted by the self-proclaimed “Voice of the WWE” Michael Cole as Cole states that “nobody cares” what Layla has to say, but the fans want to hear Cole discuss Tennessee’s own Jerry “The King” Lawler! Cole would remind the fans of his impending match with Jerry Lawler at Over The Limit where, if he wins, then he will get Lawler to personally induct him into the Hall of Fame and he will get Lawler’s Hall of Fame ring! Cole would further mock Lawler by saying that Cole’s mother is going to “love” the ring before Layla tells Cole to “shut up” and go back into his “glass house”! Cole then states that Layla is “just like” the rest of the Divas as they are “pretty little crybabies” before the familiar and haunting music of Kharma hits as the dominating Diva of destruction makes her way to the ring! Layla would look to make a quick exit before Kharma could strike, but Michael Cole would trip Layla, which would allow Kharma to catch Layla and plant Layla with the Kharma Buster! Michael Cole would then praise the actions of Kharma, but Kharma would turn her attention to the self-proclaimed “Voice of the WWE” as Kharma would stalk Cole, but Cole would flee the ring and take refuge in his “Cole Mine”, prompting Kharma to stare down the commentator from outside the glass cage before laughing and making her exit as Cole is left in complete shock! After weeks of trying to demoralize the WWE Divas, has Michael Cole caught the attention of the Diva of destruction known as Kharma? One week after physically and viciously ex-communicating Ezekiel Jackson from The Corre, The Corre’s Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, & Justin Gabriel would appear on SmackDown as Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett would reveal that Kane’s tag team partner, Big Show, is currently in Mexico with the rest of the RAW Superstars before stating that they are “stronger and more efficient” without Ezekiel Jackson! The Corre’s Wade Barrett would be in action on SmackDown as the Intercontinental Champion, with Corre members Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel in his corner, would go one-on-one with one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Kane, in a non-title match! During the match, The Corre would distract Kane, allowing Wade Barrett to temporarily take advantage, but Kane would head to the outside and knock down both Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel before Kane would take the advantage back and would look set to deliver the chokeslam to Barrett, but Slater & Gabriel would rush the ring, which would lead to a three-on-one assault by The Corre on Kane with Wade Barrett hitting Wasteland on Kane, but when Justin Gabriel would look to head up top to hit the 450 Splash on Kane, the ex-communicated Ezekiel Jackson would rush out and take out Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel with ease before setting his sights on Wade Barrett! Slater & Gabriel would then rejoin the fray, eventually getting the three-on-one advantage over Ezekiel Jackson before Heath Slater would hit Sweetness on “Big Zeke” before Justin Gabriel would hit the 450 Splash on Jackson! The Corre certainly seems stronger without Ezekiel Jackson, but would The Corre still succeed if the odds were evened? Sporting cowboy hats in honor being in Nashville, former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali and his brother and translator, Ranjin Singh, would appear on SmackDown to host the Music City edition of the Khali Kiss Cam as Khali would search the crowd for someone to kiss The Great Khali! Khali would select a portly woman from the crowd named Joy would lock lips with “The Punjabi Playboy”! The fun would then come to an end as the mystery man known as Jinder Mahal would make his way to the ring as Mahal would shout at The Great Khali in Punjabi before delivering two vicious slaps to the head of Khali as Khali just stood and took the abuse! What is the relationship between The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal? Before competing on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes would make an appearance on SmackDown as Rhodes would state that he is “not the freak” there, because the fans before stating that, once again, to “great expense” to himself, he is providing paper bags to the fans for them to put over their heads! Rhodes continues that “nobody in the WWE is exempt” from wearing the paper bags, not even his opponent and former tag team partner, Ted DiBiase, who Rhodes calls a “priceless friend”, but DiBiase would throw the paper bag to the side! Former tag team partners and former friends would face off on SmackDown as “The Veiled Superstar” Cody Rhodes would go one-on-one with “The Fortunate Son” Ted DiBiase! In the end, it was Cody Rhodes using his protective mask to gain the advantage before hitting Cross Rhodes on Ted DiBiase en route to picking up the win! After beating down their former teammate, Ezekiel Jackson, The Corre would appear backstage as Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett would challenge Ezekiel Jackson to a one-on-one match at Over The Limit, but Heath Slater would chime in that Barrett should put the Intercontinental Title on the line in the match, which Barrett reluctantly agrees to! Will Ezekiel Jackson accept a one-on-one match with Wade Barrett for the Intercontinental Title at Over The Limit? Then it was time for the main event as, nine nights before they go one-on-one for the World Heavyweight Title at Over The Limit, champion and challenger would team up as the new World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, would team with the former World Heavyweight Champion, Christian, to face the team of “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus and “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry! At the end of a chaotic match, it was Christian hitting the Killswitch on Sheamus while Randy Orton hit the RKO on Mark Henry as Christian would pin Sheamus to pick up the win! After the match, Randy Orton and Christian would shake hands in the middle of the ring as champion and challenger would stand tall!
