WWE WrestleMania: My Favourite MatchBy Tony Cottam| March 31, 2011 WWE WrestleMania It’s THAT week… WrestleMania week. Everything in the wide world of wrestling is geared towards the Showcase of the Immortals, as Vince would have us call it. As is customary with these things, the more you look forward to something, the more you tend to look back at the past. WrestleMania has provided us with many, many great moments and matches to remember… my personal favourite? Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon, Ladder Match at WrestleMania X It’s the one match that sticks out in my mind even more now that Shawn Michaels has retired, and to his credit, looks to be staying retired. It’s one match that you can watch even to this day and see it influence others. It’s barely aged, despite the dated references on commentary. With both guys being friends, it definitely helped the chemistry, and willingness to sell to put the other guy over, and it shows in the ring. Shawn Michaels was… well the Shawn Michaels we all know and love, but 15 years ago. Scott Hall was never better, this time frame was him on top of his game. I still watch it in it’s entirety to this day, and still enjoy the ebb and flow of the match, the psychology involved, the crowd being simply blown away by something, at the time, fairly new to them. WrestleMania X is my favourite WrestleMania of all time, and this is my favourite match from that show. If we get anything close to it on Sunday, we’ll all be very lucky indeed.
