Detailed Results Five nights after his controversial, but successful, defense of the World Heavyweight Title against Edge at Survivor Series, the show kicks off with World Heavyweight Champion Kane, who states that, two weeks ago on SmackDown, Edge abducted the “one thing” that means “more” to him than the World Heavyweight Title and his “own life” in his father, Paul Bearer! Kane continues that Edge “mentally tortured” Paul Bearer with his actions last week and that Edge “used” Paul Bearer as “bait” and, at Survivor Series, Edge taunted him with an empty wheel chair, but despite all of that, he is still the World Heavyweight Champion! Kane then shouts that the abduction of Paul Bearer is “unprecedented and unlawful” before stating that he “promises” not to “destroy” Edge if he brings Paul Bearer back to him! Kane then states that he is “not a freak” and he is “not a monster” before stating that he has “feelings” and that, “deep down”, he is a “warm, caring human being who only wants to be with his family for the holidays”! Kane then states that he loves “all of the holidays” and that he just wants his father back! Kane’s apparent plea is then interrupted by “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge, who, once again, wheels out an empty wheelchair as Edge states that Paul Bearer was in the chair and he is in the arena tonight and that all Kane had to do was “ask”! Kane then demands to have Paul Bearer back and Edge tells the World Heavyweight Champion to ask him “nicely” and Kane asks as nice as possible, but Edge forces Kane to ask again, but to ask with “please” this time! Edge then continues to humble the champion by making him say it again, but still Edge calls Kane’s plea “insincere” before saying that Kane did not “mean a word” of it before leaving with the empty wheelchair! What will Kane do to bring his father, Paul Bearer, back to his side? Then it was time for the first King of the Ring Qualifying Match of the night as “The All-American American” Jack Swagger, with his personal mascot, the Swagger Soaring Eagle in his corner, would go one-on-one with Kofi Kingston with the winner advancing to this Monday’s three-hour King of the Ring edition of RAW to compete against Superstars from RAW and SmackDown in an attempt to be crowned the 2010 King of the Ring! At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Kofi Kingston countering the ankle lock of Jack Swagger, sending Swagger shoulder-first into the steel ring post en route to hitting Trouble in Paradise to win the match and qualify to take part in the 2010 King of the Ring tournament this Monday night on RAW! With three King of the Ring Qualifying Matches remaining, who else will advance in the King of the Ring tournament? Backstage, Kane is talking with the SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long when Edge appears on a TV in the GM’s office and tells Kane that they are on the other side of the arena near the cotton candy stand, prompting Kane to rush out of the GM’s office in tow to the other side of the arena where Kane barges into the men’s room only to find an empty wheelchair with the message, “Gone Fishing”, written on the bathroom mirror! Will Kane ever be reunited with his father, Paul Bearer? Then it was time for the second King of the Ring Qualifying Match of the night as, for the first time ever, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show would go one-on-one with the self-proclaimed “Essence of Excellence” Alberto Del Rio with the winner qualifying for the 2010 King of the Ring tournament this Monday night on RAW! In the end, it was Big Show throwing Alberto Del Rio back into the ring from the outside and, with Del Rio’s personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez holding the ankles of Big Show and, ultimately, getting knocked out by Big Show, Del Rio would squeak out a count-out victory over “The World’s Largest Athlete” to qualify for the King of the Ring tournament this Monday on RAW! After the match was over, Edge would direct everyone’s attention to his and Paul Bearer’s position behind the fans in the arena as Edge wishes everyone the “happiest of holidays” before saying that the holidays are about “bonding” and “conversing” as he wants Kane to come out so they can have a “conversation”! Kane complies and calls Edge a “monster” and Edge says that Kane does not like it when bad things to happen! Edge then polls the fans to decide whether he should give Paul Bearer back to Kane or should he shove Paul Bearer down the stairs! Kane then states that all of Edge’s actions are to get another shot at the World Heavyweight Title and Kane grants Edge a rematch for the gold and Edge invites Kane to come up there and “join” them, but, as Kane rushes through the crowd towards his father, Edge decides to take Paul Bearer to the “hot dog stand” and, when Kane enters the backstage area, all that there is the empty wheelchair! Then it was time for the third King of the Ring Qualifying Match of the night as “The Ballin’ Superstar” MVP would go one-on-one with “The Chosen One” Drew McIntyre! After softening up the arm of MVP, Drew McIntyre would take advantage and hit the Future Shock DDT en route to picking up the win and qualifying for the 2010 King of the Ring tournament this Monday night on RAW! Five nights after losing the Divas Title to Natalya in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match, Layla & Michelle McCool make an appearance on SmackDown as McCool states that Natalya “stole” the Divas Title from them, but they always have “each other” and they will always be “flawless”! Michelle McCool would then be in action on SmackDown as McCool would go one-on-one with Jacksonville’s own Kelly Kelly! In the end, it was Kelly Kelly rolling Michelle McCool up en route to picking up the win! After the match, Michelle McCool would blast Kelly Kelly from behind as LayCool was set to attack Kelly Kelly, but, much like she did at Survivor Series, Beth Phoenix would make her return to Friday Nights as Phoenix would fight off Layla before laying McCool out with the Glam Slam! How will LayCool respond to Beth Phoenix’s interference in their attacks? Then it was time to determine the final Superstar to qualify for the 2010 King of the Ring tournament as “The Master of the 619” Rey Mysterio would go one-on-one with “Dashing” Cody Rhodes, but before the match begins, Alberto Del Rio comes out to serve as a guest on commentary! During the match, Alberto Del Rio would briefly distract Rey Mysterio, allowing “Dashing” Cody Rhodes to escape the 619 and roll to the outside! Rey would then look to hit a Senton on Rhodes, but Rhodes would duck out of the way and Rey would inadvertently hit the Senton on Del Rio! This would lead to Del Rio interfering in the match, allowing Rhodes to hit Cross Rhodes on Rey en route to picking up the win and qualifying for the King of the Ring tournament this Monday night on RAW! From RAW, Sheamus, Ezekiel Jackson, John Morrison, & United States Champion Daniel Bryan have qualified while SmackDown’s Kofi Kingston, Alberto Del Rio, Drew McIntyre, & “Dashing” Cody Rhodes have also qualified! Now the question remains, which Superstar will be the 2010 King of the Ring? Backstage, Kane barges into the office of SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long and grabs the GM by the throat and demands to know where Edge & Paul Bearer are at, but this is interrupted by Edge, who appears on the TV in the GM’s office with Bearer in the wheelchair as Edge tells Kane that they are out in the parking lot getting some “fresh air”! Edge then states that he thinks he should give Paul Bearer back to Kane before there’s an “accident” and this prompts Kane to rush out to the parking lot just in time to see a car hit Paul Bearer, well, a stuffed dummy made to look like Paul Bearer! Edge then rolls down the windows of the car to reveal Paul Bearer still tied up and in the backseat of the car as Edge tells Kane “whoops” before driving off as Kane throws the fake Paul Bearer head at the car before throwing the wheelchair and bits of Bearer around the parking lot! Will Kane ever get Paul Bearer back? What lengths will Kane be forced to go to in order to retrieve his father?
